IMP
IMP is a web mail program that allows you to check and
respond to your e-mail anywhere you have a computer with an
internet connection. IMP will let you check your e-mail as
well as respond to e-mails. It will not save sent messages,
nor allow you to create folders to sort your e-mail into.
To install IMP, first log into your Site Manager. Click on
Site Applications, and then Communication. Click on IMP in the
Avaialable Applications list, Figure 7.2.1, Note:
Mod_PHP must be installed before installing IMP. Read through

Neomail -
User's
Guide
Neomail is a web mail program that allows you to check and
respond to your e-mail anywhere you have a computer with an
internet connection. Neomail is different from IMP in that it
will store e-mail seperately from the actual mailbox on your
account. This means that Neomail will take up additional space
on your account with all the e-mail it stores. Also because
Neomail stores e-mail itself, you can also create folders to
sort your e-mail as well as save sent items.
To install Neomail, first log into your Site Manager. Click
on Site Applications, and then Communication. Click on Neomail
in the Avaialable Applications list, figure 7.3.1,
Note: Mod_PHP must be installed before installing
Neomail. Read through the Licensing Agreement, a standard GPL
License, and if you agree to its terms, click "I Agree", if
not, or if you decide not to install Neomail at this time,
then lick "Cancel". After agreeing to the license, you will be
presented with several configuration options for Neomail. They
are listed here along with what they effect and what you
should enter in them:
| Language: |
Set default language used for Neomail
preferences and limitations |
| Max Address Book Size: |
This is the maximum size(In kilobytes)
that a user's address book can grow to. This helps
prevent a user from filling up your account's hard drive
space by filling it with garbage address book
entries. |
| Folder Quota: |
Once a user's saved e-mail messages
spools meet or exceed this size (in KB), no future
messages will be able to be sent to any folder other
than TRASH, where they will be immediately deleted,
until space is freed. |
| Attachment Limit: |
This is the limit on the size of
attachments (in MB). Large attachments can
significantly drain a server's resources during the
encoding process. Note that this affects outgoing
attachment size only, and will not prevent users from
receiving messages with large attachments. |
| Session Timeout: |
This indicates how many minutes of
inactivity pass before a session is considered timed out
and the user needs to log in again. Make sure this is
big enough that a user typing a long message won't get
logged out automatically while typing! |
| Number of Headers: |
This indicates the maximum number of
headers to display to a user at a time. Keep this
number reasonable to ensure fast load times for slow
connection users. |
Once Neomail has been installed on your account, there will
be a link to it shown in the Installed Applications list,
Figure 7.3.3.
If you wish to remove Neomail from your account, place a
check in the box next to it in the Installed Applications list
and then click the "Remove Select Items" button, Figure

Formmail
- User's
Guide
FormMail is a generic HTML form to e-mail gateway that
parses the results of any form and sends them to the specified
users. This script has many formatting and operational
options, most of which can be specified within each form,
meaning you don't need programming knowledge or multiple
scripts for multiple forms. This also makes FormMail the
perfect system-wide solution for allowing users form-based
user feedback capabilities without the risks of allowing
freedom of CGI access.
To install FormMail on your account, first log into your
Site Manager. Click on Site Applications, then on
Collaboration. Click on "FormMail" to start its installation.
Read through the license, GPL, and if you agree, click on "I
Agree". There are no user configurable options at this point,
so you only need to click on "Finish" to complete the
installation.

SpamAssassin - User's
Guide
SpamAssassin is a popular spam filtering program that uses
a set of rules to determine if incoming e-mail is potentially
spam. It uses a scoring system to add or subtract points based
on conditions that match certain rules, and, if enough points
are accumulated (at or above the "Score Threshold"), marks it
as spam. SpamAssassin can also use a Bayesian type filter to
learn what is spam for you to improve the accuracy with which
spam is detected.
- Score Threshold: Anything above the threshold is
marked as spam. Increasing this threshold will increase the
amount of spam missed, but will reduce the risk of false
positives. (required_hits)
- Rewrite Message Subjects: Choose whether
SpamAssassin should add text at the beginning of the subject
line of suspected spam. (rewrite_subject)
- Rewrite Message Subjects Text: You can change the
text added to the subject. (subject_tag)
- Encapsulate Spam in Attachments: By default,
SpamAssassin encapsulates each message above the spam
threshold into a new message as a MIME attachment. This
prevents dangerous scripting and makes it easy for users to
identify whether a message is spam before opening it. You
can also choose to create text-only attachments for
increased safety. If you disable this option, the message is
unaltered except for a spam report in the headers.
(report_safe)
- Use Terse Reports: If this option is enabled a
shorter version of the spam report is used. This is
especially useful when you are not using the attachment
feature above. (use_terse_report)
- AutoLearn-Use Bayes System SpamAssassin can use a
statistical, "Bayesian" analysis system to determine whether
each message is spam based on previous examples of spam and
nonspam. (use_bayes)
- AutoLearn-Use Auto Learning: SpamAssassin can
automatically train its Bayes database by analyzing messages
that have a score that strongly suggests that they are spam
or nonspam. (auto_learn)

Shared
SSL - User's
Guide
Shared SSL allows you to secure your site without having to
purchase your own SSL Certificate. You will be able to use
"https://ssl4.westserver.net/yourdomain.com" as a secure url
to get to your account.
To install Shared SSL, log in to your Site Manager and go
to the Site Applications section. Click on Tools, and then on
"Shared SSL". Read the license and its terms and, if you
agree, click on "I Agree". There are no configuration options
for Shared SSL so just click on "Finish". Within 5 minutes
your site will then be accessible from the Shared SSL url like
shown in the example.

Figure 7.7 - Install Shared SSL
Once you have installed the shared SSL on your account, you
can begin using it by simply accessing files you need secured
through the secure path rather than the non secure path. There
is no need to upload files to a special location for them to
be secured by SSL.
For example, if you have a file called 'securefile.html'
and you needed to have that file secured by SSL, you would
just upload that file to your web site like any other file.
Once 'securefile.html' is uploaded there are two ways that it
can be accessed:
- Non Secure: http://yourdomain.com/securefile.html
- Secure:
https://ssl4.westserver.net/yourdomain.com/securefile.html
You will only want to access the files with their secure
link that need to be secured. There is usually no reason to
secure every page with SSL. Accessing your entire site through
SSL will cause pages to load slower than if you accessed them
without the SSL.
Below is a table of some more examples of secure and non
secure links to the same file:
| File Name |
Non Secure Link |
Secure Link |
| Main Home Page |
